In this exciting class, students will learn basic dance skills and combinations from musical theatre auditions and shows.

Students will also delve a bit further by learning the stories, plot lines and characters from several Broadway musicals including: Peter Pan, Annie, The Sound of Music and The Wizard of Oz.

While singing is not a focus of the class, some vocal work will be incorporated throughout the year including learning a proper voice warm up, musical phrasing and music notation in order to properly read sheet music.

Musical Theatre Dance
For students in 3rd & up

Spring PERFORMANCE:  Students in this class will perform in the StageDoor Acting and Musical Theatre Dance Showcase for family and friends on May 7th at the CDF Studio Theatre. Musical Theatre Dance students will perform a 10-minute tribute to a musical, including character roles, costumes and props.

Class Attire:
Girls:  solid color leotard, black dance pants, black soft-soled jazz shoes.
Boys:  t-shirt, black dance pants, black soft-soled jazz shoes.
